Space ------ Distancing

Two meters between one another – what occurs within the social distancing space defined during the Coronavirus pandemic?
How can the experiences and emotions of the pandemic period be translated into a visual image?
The exhibition “Space —— Distancing” was created at the highpoint of the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, during the spring of 2020. Students from the Visual Communication Department of the Musrara School of Art and Society created an illustrated conceptual enterprise manifesting emotions and ideas expressing the Zeitgeist, life under restrictions, isolation, and social distancing, alongside moments of humaneness and optimism. The unique format of the posters defined in practice the space of social distancing – delineating two meters between each person.
Personal experiences, inner and exterior observation, anecdotes, and moments engraved in the memory – all found their way into this series of illustrated posters, which constitute a personal reflection of a historical time.
